OVERVIEW

The Modeling Agency’s Predictive Analytics & Data Mining course series is designed to bring you up to speed more effectively, efficiently and pragmatically than any other program available.

This series presents the topic from two very distinct orientations yet complementary objectives. Each course within the series may be attended independently, or in succession for a comprehensive view of data mining. The tactical course is scheduled first simply as a suggested pathway to view the trees before the forest. Both courses are introductory and aggressive.

SELECTION CONSIDERATIONS

If you can only attend one session, consider the Strategic Implementation course. Even though it is second in the progression, the Strategic Implementation course has no prerequisites and covers the most critical and pragmatic aspects of the data mining process while putting them into practice. You may always return for the Model Development course at a later time. Participants do build models in the Strategic Implementation course, with tactics largely automated by software.

Modern data mining software is highly effective at automating model-building tactics. It is far more important to drive a superior project design with good models than to develop excellent models that answer the wrong questions or are uninterpretable. Two surveys displayed in “Reason #3″ of TMA’s article entitled “101 Ways to Sabotage Your Predictive Analytics Project” underscore that the elusive pitfalls that cause most data mining projects fall short of their potential are strategic.

EARN YOUR CERTIFICATE

Those who attend the full week will be eligible to take a certification exam. Upon passing the exam, you will achieve professional certification in Predictive Analytics and Data Mining. The certification may be referenced in your professional profile, on-line credentials or your résumé.
